Recycled Christmas paper Apron dress and Beret hat – a great project for January!

This unusual recycled paper fashion project came about, when I had a lot of large pieces of used Christmas paper left over this January! I always wanted to challenge myself with a paper sewing DIY project, and this seemed the perfect occasion! I must say, it turned out great fun – and the dress is really fun to wear – just as long as you dont sit down! at all!!

Here is a quick video of this fun paper sewing project..

(If you can’t see the video please tap below)

However you will probably have to use it as an inspiration, rather than a fully fledged tutorial! Partly because it’s not very extensive – and partly because the nature of recycling wrapping paper is, that every pile is very different to the next!

I do hope you get inspired to create something awesome – and please send me a pic if you do! Or tag me on social media #theawesomechildhoodproject

10. Straw decorations Christmas crown

make easy headband crafts for adults and kids with recycled christmas straw decorations simple nature play craft diy

This Autumnal Straw Tiara was inspired by some beautiful folklore style straw christmas decorations I found in my local charity shop! I wanted to create an Eco friendly and Sustainable Seasonal Crown, and they turned out perfect!

The Tiara is crafted by sewing the decorations together with cotton – working out the design as you go along! Very much a ‘winging it’ kind of project – like some of my very favourite projects often are – but it turned out really beautiful!

If you have a go at this, please do let me know, I’d be very interested to see what you create!
